The number one GOAL for just about anybody doing business online is getting a FLOOD of new traffic to your website each day.

And if that traffic is showing up each day without paying for it (i.e. using “Pay Per Click Marketing”) so much the better.

If real estate is best understood by the mantra “location… location… location” then web marketing for your online business is best understood by “first page… first page… first page.”

Ok, that much is obvious…

So let’s put aside all the talk and all of the hype for a second and face some cold, hard facts for a moment that anyone online has experienced as a painful truth.

Right now your website is either getting a lot of traffic… or your site is getting next to nothing.  In the online market place there is no “half-way.”

Two Real World SEO Examples

So what gives?

Why is it so darned hard to get the traffic your business needs each day?

Let me list with you some of the critical flaws that many people face when approaching SEO (or hiring another SEO firm)…

  1. Improper Keyword Targeting
  2. Outdated/Obsolete SEO “Strategies”
  3. Working with an “Account executive” instead of an SEO Expert
  4. Focusing 99% of their efforts on “tweaking” your website
  5. Failure to properly utilize Social Media

Ok, that’s quite a list.

And depending on who you hired recently (or in the past) chances are that you may be run into one, some or ALL of these problems.

Let me explain…

1. An Attorney Gets “Schooled”

Recently an attorney hired our firm to take over his SEO efforts after a “bigger firm” worked with him for 12 months.

Why did  he hire us?

Great question.  Basically, after using this “well-known” SEO company for 12 months, he could only track down 2 new clients to their efforts.

You read that right. TWO clients in 12 months.

From an ROI perspective his website was a joke.  He would have been better off using the Yellow Pages (ouch!).

So on the recommendation of his web developer I performed an “SEO X-Ray” of his site prior to our first meeting. And here is what I found…

  1. Keywords too narrowly focused (i.e. meaning, keywords with search volumes < 10 per month)
  2. Untested/unproved keywords
  3. Poor “meta data” – especially “Title Tags” & “Descriptions”
  4. Poor page layout & page titles
  5. No keyword integration with his content
  6. ZERO Social Media exposure
  7. ZERO backlinks to his site

So let me ask you something… what was he paying for these past 12  months? You tell me, because from reviewing his website I COULDN’T figure out what actual work was done.

To call their efforts “amateur hour” would frankly be an understatement.

On a side note, we started with proper keyword research for his business. And a week after his web developer added the new “meta data” to his site he picked up a new client who found him on Google.

And we are just getting started.

Do you think that’s an isolated case?

Think again…

2.  Lead Gen Company Taken to the Cleaners

Last year a lead generation company hired us to fix their Pay Per Click marketing nightmare.

How bad was it?

They spent more than $100,000 on Pay Per Click resulting in less than $45,000 in revenue.  And with no “back end” sales or other revenue opportunities from the leads, you don’t have to be rocket scientist to figure out that you can’t keep that up all day.

So how did we get involved with their SEO?

Well, since we were working with their “Landing Page” to improve lead conversion (taking it from 4.87% to 15.23% in 3 months) I had access to the “back end” of their website.

And what I discovered surprised me… and shocked them.

  1. Only ONE page out of 5000 had any meta data installed
  2. The other pages, from Google’s perspective were actually considered “duplicate content”
  3. Improper keyword selection
  4. No interlinking on the site
  5. Backlinks originating from “link farms”

In short, it was a nightmare.

And despite my reservations and recommendations they did not fire their SEO company… because their SEO company was also their web developer.

You can’t make this stuff up.

So even though we reduced their cost per lead from $137.65 to $37.29, it didn’t make much difference in the long run. Because organic traffic coming from proper SEO increases revenues and profit margins.

But for these guys, 100% of their “conversions” were generated from PPC because of the SEO disaster happening on (and OFF) their website.

So what can you do?

SEO Consulting Services

We work with a number of clients in a wide-range on industries.

And our approach to each one is basically the same. To get them the results that others have promised.

For example, here is one search for a client that resulted in FOUR (4) listings on the first page…

marleycab

Do you think this will lead to more sales?

It has.

So how do we work with you to get you the results you need?

First we conduct thorough keyword research of your product, service, geo-targeting and client/customer profile.  Then we analyze your website to review “meta data”, site structure & possible keyword integration.

Once that is finished we perform a “competitive analysis” of your market place to determine what the top 10 websites are, and more importantly HOW they got to the first page.

After this preliminary work is done we sketch out a range of proven strategies to help get you the results you want… and need.

Does that make sense?

Unlike other SEO firms that leave you in the dark as to their methods, we include you in the process so you understand what we are recommending to you… and WHY.
